Please read these Terms of Service (these “Terms”) carefully before using criticfarm.com and any related content, tools, calculators, or interactive features (collectively, the “Services”), operated by Critic Farm (“Critic Farm,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Description of the Services

Critic Farm publishes educational content and state-by-state insurance guides about auto insurance, offers free informational tools and calculators, and operates an interactive “matching” quiz that collects information about your driving profile, vehicle, and coverage needs to help identify insurance options that may be suitable for you.

Critic Farm is not an insurance company, insurance agent, or insurance broker. We do not sell, underwrite, or bind insurance policies. When you use our matching quiz, your information may be shared with third-party insurance carriers, licensed agents or brokers, lead aggregators, and/or affiliate marketing networks so that they may contact you with quotes or offers. See our Disclaimer and Advertiser & Data Disclosure, both incorporated into these Terms by reference.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Services, including the matching quiz. By using the Services, you represent that you meet these requirements and that all information you submit is accurate and truthful.

3. Use of the Matching Quiz and Data Sharing Consent

By submitting information through the matching quiz or any lead form, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Your information (including driving profile, vehicle information, coverage needs, and contact details) will be shared with one or more third-party insurance carriers, agents, brokers, and/or affiliate marketing partners for the purpose of generating quotes or sales leads on your behalf;
  • Critic Farm may receive compensation from these partners in connection with such matches, as described in our Advertiser & Data Disclosure;
  • Submitting the quiz does not obligate you to purchase any product and does not guarantee you will receive a quote, coverage, or any particular rate;
  • If you provide a phone number: By providing your phone number, you consent to receive calls and text messages, including by automated dialing technology or prerecorded voice, from Critic Farm and/or its insurance partners regarding your inquiry. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of texts.

4. No Insurance, Financial, or Legal Advice

All content on the Services, including articles, state guides, calculator outputs, and quiz results, is provided for general informational and educational purposes only and does not constitute insurance, financial, or legal advice. Coverage types, limits, and figures referenced or estimated anywhere on the Services are illustrative estimates only and are not a guarantee of actual rates, coverage terms, or eligibility. You should independently verify any quote or coverage information directly with the applicable insurance carrier or a licensed professional before making any purchasing decision.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Provide false, misleading, or another person’s information through the matching quiz or any form without authorization;
  • Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
  • Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Services or related systems;
  • Scrape, harvest, or otherwise extract data from the Services without our prior written consent;
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the Services — including text, graphics, logos, tool designs, and software — is owned by or licensed to Critic Farm and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may view and use the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our content without our prior written permission.

7. Third-Party Links and Partners

The Services may contain links to, or facilitate introductions to, third-party websites, insurance carriers, and affiliate partners. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, policies, products, or practices of any third party. Your interactions with any insurance carrier or partner you are matched with are solely between you and that party, and any policy you purchase is governed by that carrier’s own terms and conditions.

8. Disclaimers of Warranties

THE SERVICES AND ALL CONTENT, TOOLS, AND CALCULATOR RESULTS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY ESTIMATE, RATE, OR COVERAGE FIGURE DISPLAYED ON THE SERVICES WILL MATCH THE ACTUAL QUOTE, PREMIUM, OR COVERAGE YOU RECEIVE FROM ANY CARRIER, OR THAT YOU WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR ANY PRODUCT DISCUSSED ON THE SERVICES.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CRITIC FARM AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES, ANY CONTENT OR ESTIMATES PROVIDED, OR ANY INTERACTION WITH AN INSURANCE CARRIER OR PARTNER YOU WERE MATCHED WITH, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Critic Farm and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

12. Changes to the Services and These Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Services, or any part of them, at any time. We may also revise these Terms from time to time by posting an updated version with a new “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Severability and Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Disclaimer, Advertiser & Data Disclosure, Cookie Policy, and any other policies referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and Critic Farm regarding the Services.
